Pantheon Cultural Association invites you to Xperimental | Sonic Arts, an experimental music event of improvisation and sound-sculpture
Within the Xperimental program, Pantheon Cultural Association has begun a new effort of experimental creativity through the sonic arts. The aim of this effort is to support the young artists (composers, musicians) in the production but also promotion of their work.
While often supporting experimental artists in Cyprus we observed a developing interest for non-commercial, experimental music scene and considered it necessary to create a foundation for those interested (both artists and publics) under the name Xperimental | Sonic Arts.
While intending to present these new sounds to the public a team of experimental musicians are organized, playing together and introducing themselves to each other’s art. The event Xperimental | Sonic Arts aims to present the experimental music scene live. The artists present their music and the music scene they are involved in. These individuals have been involved with and worked in the music sector since their early youth, emphasizing their need for experimentation in their personal creations.
Considering the creation of a breeding ground for experimental musicians necessary, the Pantheon Cultural Association responded with ‘Sonic Arts’ consisting in the release of CDs compiling the work of musicians, supported by improvisational concerts. The launching of the collection is hosted on one of the grounds of the Pantheon Cultural Association (TRITOS). The CDs compiled by the event are then distributed and followed by an improvisational jam on the premises. The Association intends to promote the CD in Cyprus as well as in other European countries as a record of the local music scene.
Through its cooperation with the networkProject Studio, the Association aims to support the artists taking part in ‘Sonic Arts’, creating the best possible conditions for the live performances as well as providing, to those musicians without the necessary tools, an affordable means for them to record their music in the best possible environment.
Musicians taking part in the project are expected to support their entry with a live performance of some sort at the event, held at the TRITOS venue.
