Gallery Facilitator
Casual hours, multiple positions

Salary:
$14.69 per hour

Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Gallery Education staff, the Gallery Facilitator’s primary function is to assist visitors in the interpretation and enjoyment of gallery exhibitions, events and programs.

The Gallery Facilitator shall assist in the research, planning, design and implementation of programs and interpretive materials for all audiences; participate in training and evaluation process; deliver tour and studio programs; participate in program set-up and clean-up, both after tours and in general studio clean-up sessions; and may assist in the administration and development of programs. Other duties may also be required.

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in visual art,
• Experience teaching adults/children of various ages,
• Experience teaching adults/children with special needs an asset,
• Excellent oral and written communication,
• Self motivated with ability to work well with others,
• Available to work at least 2 half days per week.

Responsabilités :
Sous la supervision du personnel du programme éducatif de la galerie, la première responsabilité du animatice/ animateur est d’aider les visiteurs dans l’interprétation et l’appréciation des expositions, événements et programmes de la Galerie.

Le animatrice/ animateur devra aider dans la recherche, la planification et la réalisation de programmes et de matériels interprétatifs pour tous les groupes d’âge; participer au processus de formation et d’évaluation; faire des visites guidées et des ateliers; participer à l’installation et au nettoyage des programmes, ceci après chaque visites guidées et en général, des sessions de nettoyages d’ateliers; et peut aider à l’administration et au développement des programmes. D’autres tâches peuvent aussi être nécessaires.

Compétences :
- Avoir de l’expérience en art visuel,
- Avoir de l’expérience dans l’enseignement aux enfants et aux adultes d’âges variés,
- Avoir de l’expérience dans l’enseignement aux enfants et aux adultes avec des besoins spéciaux,
- Avoir une excellente communication orale et écrite,
- Être très motivé et avec la capacité à travailler en équipe,
- Être disponible au moins 2 demi-journées par semaine.

Term:
Thursday Evening Program: 3 hrs per week X 16 weeks plus 16 hours planning and preparation

Salary:
Level 3
$17.03 per hour

Under the supervision of the Gallery Educator - School and Youth Programs, the Art Instructor shall:

 instruct art workshops,
 facilitate artist instructed workshops,
 assist with the planning, documentation and evaluation of the programs,
 facilitate communication between administrators, teachers, parents, and gallery staff,
 assist with program administration including schedules and statistics,
 organize nutritional snacks for programs,
 assist with maintenance of art supplies and art studios.

Qualifications:
 Experience in programming for inner-city youth,
 Demonstrated experience in visual art,
 Excellent written and oral communication,
 Self motivated and has ability to work well with others,
 Degree in Visual Art, Education or equivalent,
 Valid Driver’s License.

 assist with program administration including schedules and statistics,
 assist in organization and implementation of special events, and
 assist with maintenance of art supplies and art studios.

Qualifications:
 Experience in programming for inner-city youth
 Demonstrated experience in visual art,
 Experience and understanding of First Nation’s art and culture,
 Excellent written and oral communication,
 Self motivated and has ability to work well with others,
 Degree in Visual Art, Education or equivalent,
