Job Opportunity – Filmpool seeks Major Projects/Programing coordinator

The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative is currently seeking a major projects
/ programming coordinator. This full-time contract position will be
responsible for development and delivery of exhibitions, workshops, outreach
and major projects at the Filmpool. This position will work in conjunction
with the staff and Board of Directors to create and develop programming in
support of the Filmpool's mandate and directions determined in long-term
planning sessions. This position will also be responsible for reaching
programming and outreach goals determined by the senior staff and the board.

Responsibilities include:
-Development of programming for screenings, workshops and outreach projects.
-Developing communications strategies around programming.
-Creating and maintaining budgets.
-Assisting in fundraising strategies linked to programming.
-Assisting in the writing and delivery of operational and programming
grants.
-Working with the membership and other film interested communities.
-Developing and maintaining partnerships with other cultural organisations
in Saskatchewan.
-Assessing programming to ensure that goals have been met and that programs
are effective.
-Volunteer coordination skills are not necessary but would be an asset.

Successful applicants will have the following skills and abilities:
-A post secondary degree in fine arts, preferably film or media arts
related, or a commensurate level of experience.
-A strong awareness of independent film and Media arts communities across
Canada.
-Good organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines while
maintaining a budget.
-A capacity for visioning and developing programming.
-Good communication skills, both written and oral.
-Able to work in a MAC environment, with word, excel, quark, photoshop and
some HTML.
-Can work independently, yet also as part of a team
-A good and professional working personality, especially for approaching
sponsors and visiting artists.
-A driver's license

Experience with other cultural centres and artist run culture is a definite
asset, but not a necessity for the position.

The Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative is a non-profit, artist-run-centre
charity, as such, remuneration for this position would be affected by
funding support. In addition, staff are often required to provide support to
programs that extends above and beyond their job descriptions. However, this
is an excellent opportunity for an emerging film programmer.
