3rd International Digital Art Festival Rosario/Argentina

The International Art Digital Festival will be realized in 2007 in Rosario for the 3rd time since 2003, intending to create a space for the interaction and interchange between students and professionals of digital art, design, video, photography, music and every practice related to experimental practice, such as VJ, DJ, audio-visual productions and live performances from Argentina and abroad.
For the 2007 festival a theme was chosen which is dealing with the protection of the natural environment. Artists are encouraged to submit works related to this subject, however it is not mandatory.
The Festival was founded and is organised by Rattlesnake Multimedia, an independantly working design company run dealing with video works, digital photo, web designs, net art, VJ and and other activities in the field of digital art.
The 1st festival took place in 2003 at CEC - Center for Contemporary Cultural Expressions located in the big store houses of the former harbour of Rosario which will be also the festival location in 2007, and became a big success including more than 600 from Argentina and abroad.
The Festival invites special guests: in 2003 it was ORLAN, the famous French contemporary artist, and the Argentine group around Vera Baxter.
In 2006, the 2nd festival, the special guest were the Canadian experimenatl media artist Nancy Nisbet and German media artist and New Media curator Wilfried Agricola de Cologne from Germany.
An comprehensive festival program included numerous lectures, live performances, installations, exhibitions and screenings of programs of invited festivals like ->"Experimenta" (Colombia), "Festival Chroma 7" (Mexico), "Alucine" (Canada), "Cologne Online Film Festival" (Germany), "Festival Rojo Sangre" (Buenos Aires) y "Havanna Digital Art Festival" (Cuba).
The festival is a cooperation with the Cultural Department of the City of Rosario.
Participation rules
a) Artists from all over the world with no age limit will be able to participate.
b) Registration is free.
c) Works realised by more than one author should be registered just by one group member.
d) Artists can submit to different catagories, but to each category just one work
e) Only works can be submitted which had not been participating already.
f) Only works will be accepted which fulfill the requirement of the respective category
g) the artists/authors of a selected work give the permission to Rattlesnakes Independent Productions to use still and moving images for the promoton of the works and the festival,
whereby all right are kept by the author.
h) Selected material will be not returned and becomes part of the festival archives of
Rattlesnake Productions, but it will be used for cultural prurposes only, commercial use is expressively excluded.
k) The festival organisation takes care for the submitted material the best way possble, but does not take responsibility for any loss or unpredictable damage.
Categories:
There is a free theme in any category; however ,this year the festival propose as optional a theme related to the environmental unconsciousness: the human attitude as an enemy of our habitat, that we believe it can be thought through the art.

Sub categories: fiction, experimental, animation, 2 D, 3D, comic, VJ reels
2 DVDs with the printing of name and category/ PAL no more than 30 minutes.
2. Digital photography
On /off line
A) digital cameras
2 CDs, a copy on paper print of 20*30 cm of each work.
B) cell phone cameras
2 CDs, a copy on maximum resolution paper print.
3. Modified games
On /off line
2 CDs or 2 DVDs
4. Net art
On /off line
Link to the website with no weight limit. 2 CDs or VDs.
5. Interactive CDS
On /off line
Windows XP/pc compatible format. Fla . Swf / Flash 8

6. Installation/ performance
Send project synopsis, pictures, scale models, videos, sizes and every relevant information.
7. E-music
On /off line
DJ demos, musicians, bands, etc. and everything related to E-music.
Neither covers or band covers are accepted.
Awards:
The digital video and digital photography categories are competitive, the selected works in both categories could get the following awards:
♣ Digital video. Award: a digital video camera.
♣ Digital photography (camera) Award: a digital photo camera.
♣ Digital photography (cell phone) Award: a camera cell phone.
The winners will be chosen by a jury and announced on the final day of the festival, 17 November 2007

On line and off line registration: until October 7th 2007 (deadline/poststamp)
On line register is mandatory for the participation on this contest.
Before October 7th 2007 (deadline for receiving the submission) the registration form should have been already completed and the delivery already done.
The regitration will be confirmed via email.
The registration form has to be completely filled in, the printed form should be sent together with the submitted work
All material sent must be received on a closed and labeled envelope specifying in detail the category in which it is enrolled.
