Job: Teaching Opportunity at Mount Allison University

The Department of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University invites
applications for a 12 month position in Painting, Studio Foundations,
and Drawing. The Fine Arts Department offers a B.F.A. degree and B.A.
degree with a majors and minor in studio arts and art history. Teaching
responsibilities will include Elements of Art (a two and three
dimensional design course at the first year level); painting and
drawing at the second and third year levels; and supervision of fourth
year students in Advanced Studio courses.

The successful applicant should have a completed Master of Fine Arts
degree; experience teaching painting, studio foundations and drawing at
the undergraduate level; a strong commitment to studio practice; and an
exhibition record. An informed awareness of contemporary critical
discourse in fine arts, and the ability to incorporate critical theory
into studio courses at all levels are assets. The appointment will be
at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, and will begin on 1
July 2007, subject to budgetary approval.

Mount Allison is a highly respected small (2200 students) undergraduate
institution which aims at excellence in undergraduate education. The
Department of Fine Arts, with 10 full and part time faculty and
approximately 115 students, offers courses in drawing, painting
photography, printmaking, sculpture, open media and art history. The
Owens Art Gallery, with a program of contemporary and historical

Job: VACO hiring Visual Art Instructors

CALL FOR INSTRUCTORS

Spring/Summer 2007 and Fall 2007/Winter 2008

Visual Arts Centre, Orleans (VACO) is currently seeking art
instructors. VACO has a nine year history of offering visual art
classes to the east-end community. Currently we are looking to engage
the greater segment of the community and enhance the creative
experience in the city. VACO is looking for course ideas that will
entice the absolute beginner as well as the advanced student. This is
a great opportunity as we are developing programming for VACO to take
its place in the new Art Centre facilities planned for the heart of
Orleans.

Looking for instructors with previous teaching experience.
Bilingualism an asset.

Specialities we are currently seeking

* Adult Drawing various skill levels
* Adult Painting various skill levels including all painting media
* Monoprinting
* Silkscreening
* Instructors with early childhood development and visual arts for
our classes called ‘Toddler and Me’
* Art for the those with no previous experience (looking for those
instructors that can provide a supportive and nurturing environment)
* Bookbinding
* Theme-based workshops
* Courses that tap into ideas about developing creativity
* Art and wellness
