Call for entries - DOKU.ARTS Festival for Films on Art


DOKU.ARTS - 2nd International Festival for Films on Art will take place
between September 19th and 23rd, 2007 in Berlin. DOKU.ARTS is the new
European platform for international films on art. While the focus lies on
documentaries, there is also the chance to see films that are between
fiction and documentary. DOKU.ARTS is the only European festival that
presents films from all fields of art (music, literature, theatre, dance,
cinema, photography, architecture, fine arts). In the forum, "Producing
Films on Art", the festival invites filmmakers, producers, critics, persons
engaged in the cultural sector, artists and commissioning editors from all
over Europe to discuss the challenges involved in producing documentaries on
art.

Job: Global Visions seeks Development Officer

Development Officer

Global Visions is currently seeking a Fundraising/Development Officer to
promote its documentary film festival by increasing awareness and building
financial support.

The successful candidate should have a strong nonprofit arts
fundraising/development background. Proven funding, sponsorship and
promotional accomplishments are essential.

Excellence in writing is vital, above all, in producing grant applications.
The ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail,
prioritize work and meet deadlines are crucial in this work environment.
Flexibility in scheduling with regular availability to participate in
periodic meetings is needed. Computer literacy - a must.

Candidate will be encouraged to expand current funding levels from existing
sources as well as seek out and access new avenues of funding including
development and implementation of corporate sponsorship and promotion
strategies.

Will report directly to the Board of Directors but will have considerable
autonomy. Will be a key player, intimately involved in the inner workings of
Global Visions, and will be expected to be the point person for all
fundraising activity within the organization and in the development of
community relations and partnerships.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Research corporate / small business and partnership opportunities and
develop sponsorship packages to solicit funding and promotions;
· Research and pursue new funding prospects from a wide variety of
foundation, government, corporate and individual sources; write interim and
final reports;
· Strategize with Board on GVFFS programs, visibility and on funding;
· Develop festival recognition regionally, nationally and internationally;
· Assist GVFFS in the development of annual fundraising goals, policies and
objectives; monitor and prepare reports of fundraising progress;
· Research and pursue networking opportunities with community organizations
· Research human resources opportunities that may be of assistance to the
organization

Callout: International Documentary Festival (5 day productions)

The time is here for the International Documentary Challenge (IDC)


The IDC is a timed filmmaking competition developed by KDHX Community Media
and sponsored by Hot Docs, SILVERDOCS, the International Documentary
Association, the Documentary Organization of Canada and the creators of the
48 Hour Film Project. The Premise: Filmmaking teams from around the globe
have just over 5 days to make a short non-fiction film (4-8 min.) Hot Docs
Canadian International Documentary Film Festival will host the theatrical
premiere of the finalists and a traveling showcase of the winners will play
festivals and film series across the world, a DVD will be released, and
television distribution will be pursued. The IDC takes place March 1-5,
2007.
